Disappearing Act
My life has become a walking meditation on regret………
blurring the lines between missteps and genuflection.
I was the person that fooled everyone. I went against
traffic patterns, and now I deflate a little with each breath.
Each time a little piece escapes, patches of personality gone.
The neurons fire to empty places,
the messages come back "return to sender".
Before I left, I noticed that the fire escape was rusty and hasn’t been used in years.
Waiting for the end seems like the dinosaurs have come and gone,
and returned again.
Walk. Perish. Walk. Perish. Walk. Perish: My mouth is twisted, in preparation for disaster…
At the gate, the lions have been pacing back and forth for quite some time now…
it will be just like heaven on a June day, I will lift into the breeze, float into pink, rise and fade to
white.
